Kasey & David: Avon Gardens Wedding – Indianapolis Wedding Photographer

I was thrilled to be a part of Kasey and David’s wedding. We had such a great time at their engagement session and I knew from all of Kasey’s diligent planning that their day would be smooth and so much fun! Avon Gardens did not disappoint, they always have the most gorgeous property. Since I was last there (and each time since my first visit), they’ve continually added improvements and backdrops for photo opportunities. One of my favorite things about them is all of the lighting they have once the sun goes down. Candles are everywhere throughout the gardens and white lights grace all of their structures which make for gorgeous photo locations at night, which we were able to take advantage of!

I loved seeing their engagement images used for their guest book, the custom Mrs. Crosby dress hanger custom designed just for her by a dear family member and the fact that a caterpillar decided to photobomb the ring shots. I especially loved all of the fun Kasey and David had on their wedding day, it was completely filled with friends, family and love–just as it should be. Congratulations to them! They did a fabulous write-up on their experience, see below for Q&A with Kasey and David!

Q&A from the B&G

Favorite part of your wedding day?
“Our favorite part of the wedding day was the first look that David and I experienced. It was such a romantic and sweet moment to walk up to David, tap him on the shoulder, and him turn around with the biggest and best smile I have ever seen. Those initial moments and conversation were priceless. We were able to enjoy the moment privately and say what we really wanted to say to each other with the wedding party close by. It helped ease our nerves and anticipation for the rest of the fabulous day. Walking down the aisle was perfect as well. David was shedding a few tears and to see all the smiles of everyone in attendance was a great feeling. These two moments put all of the wedding planning in perspective – the wedding was “really” happening and it is truly about our love and us two starting our lives together officially.”

“Since I was not from the Indianapolis area, I had many family and friends travel to this area and stay in the same hotel. This was awesome because we all could be together for the weekend. It was fun to walk downstairs or on the elevator and see our family and friends in all moments. This would not have happened anywhere else!”

Honeymoon – Where did you go? What did you love? Tell us about it!
“For the honeymoon, we traveled to Riviera Mexico to the Azul Sensatori Resort. It was absolutely gorgeous!
The all-inclusive was great with several restaurants to choose from every day along with all the pool and beach options.
The weather was as good as it gets – no gray clouds all week. David and I both enjoy the sunshine, so we enjoyed the hot and sunny days sitting by the pool.”

“We did two excursions while we were in Mexico. We went to the Xplor park that involved doing ziplines, driving ambitious vehicles on trails, swimming through the caves, and rafting through the caves. The best part of this park was doing a zipline from the top and ending through a waterfall and into a cave! The water sure felt refreshing. David’s favorite excursion was the snorkeling trip we took at Maroma Beach on a catamaran to two different snorkeling locations. Swimming and seeing all the beautiful coral and fish was wonderful, especially the rainbow-colored fish.”

“It was nice to have relaxing days, but also good to venture out and see the land and its offerings nearby the resort!”

Advice for future brides and grooms?
“Our advice to future brides and grooms is to “go with the flow” with all the planning involved. Try to stay organized and be on top of all planning whether you have lots of time to plan or a short amount of time. Make the decision (whether big or small, venue or cake topper) and stick with it. Keep in mind at all times that the wedding day is about the two people in love, so do what each of you want.
Remember that if something goes wrong (not as you initially planned) no one at the wedding will know it besides the bride and groom – the stress is not worth it. Enjoy it and have fun!”

“Enjoy all of the people in attendance (whether many or small) and remember they love you! They would not be there for any other reason. Be grateful and be sure to send thank you cards to everyone for everything you receive through the entire process!”

The special weekend only happens once in your lives!

Any words to family and friends viewing your photos?
