Jamberry Nails: Product Review with Photos

So, you’ve probably heard about this new trend, Jamberry Nails. I’d been hearing about it but thought, “Oh great, another company getting women to peddle their wares on unsuspecting Facebook friends.”

Well, in part this is true. Jamberry is sold through online little storefronts of friends. But, here’s the big surprise – they’re actually a pretty good product. Look at dem toes on the sands of the Dominican Republic last week!

Actually, that trip to DR is what prompted me to try Jamberry because my nails always look so terrible after the first day or two (especially when traveling) and my friend Kelly and I were planning a few beach side and underwater photo shoots (more on that soon!) and I wanted to have awesome nails.

Durability:
June 17th was application day. In that time I’ve traveled internationally, swam, snorkeled, laid out in the most humid environment of my life, had at least 5 photo shoots (that I can recount off the top of my head) washed dishes and laundry countless times, along with all the other random tasks I do on a day to day basis and these babies still look great. I even cut my nails (I prefer really short nails) and I just used a nail file on each for about 3 swipes and they were like new, no chips or scratches.

Application:
It took about 45 minutes to do a full manicure and pedicure but now that I’ve done it once I know I could do it much faster. I was actually really impressed with my first application!

Tools: All you need are tiny scissors, a nail file, cuticle pusher and a hair dryer to get the job done.

You can watch the official application video here.

Use:
Honestly, I wish they had these when I was getting married since I never actually had time to get that manicure I’d planned on (and they had a french tips option which is what I had planned!). In fact, I was frantically painting my nails about an hour before the ceremony which is why I so strongly recommend a very well thought out wedding timeline to all of my clients, which you can download: here.

Where to buy:
Visit my friend Nicole’s page here to see all the options. There’s currently a buy 3 get 1 free promotion going on and free shipping this week offered by Nicole (to take advantage of that join the Facebook event, here.

I actually have two friends (Hola Nicole and Kelly) that are now selling with Jamberry so I’m going to have to spread around my orders to support their small businesses! If you decide to order some in the next few days, please click Nicole and select my name at checkout! I think my event is going on for a few more days.

Cost:
They’re $15 a sheet, which is good for two manicures and two pedicures ($3.75 each). I very, very rarely ever get manicures and pedicures at the salon, so I’ll compare my cost-satisfaction with actual nail polish.

Normal polish lasts me 4-5 days for manicures and 2-3 weeks for pedicures and take probably 15 minutes to do.

Jams last 2-3 weeks for manicures and I’m going to estimate they’ll last me at least 6-8 weeks for pedicures because they look exactly the same 2 weeks out and I’m going to say between 20-25 minutes to apply.

Overall, I think it’s a good investment because I simply DO. NOT. HAVE. TIME. to allocate on nail care, especially right now with all the work I’m doing in addition to new house projects. Guys. I’m reallllly busy. So now’s the time to contact me for photos if you want to set something up before November!

Other Fun Facts:
– I love that they’re made in America and the company was started by a set of sisters. Heyyyyy, entrepreneurs!

– Non-toxic and no smell. Bonus points! I despise nail polish smell.

– Super fun patterns or more classic tones if you need a more conservative look.

– Everyone in DR thought I painted these. So I let them think it and felt super cool. : )

– Because they’ve thought of everything, they even have the Jamberry Juniors line where you can order them for daughters that won’t leave yours alone.

My favs:
Here’s the others I’ve ordered below (in addition to the feature image). My next order will be City Lights, Birds in Paradise, Azure Rose and Confetti Cake…I think. : )

Mint Green Chevron
CN07

Cup of Tea
A524

White Tip
FT03

Poppy & White Polka
PK27

One last tip – there’s so many options it can be really overwhelming when trying to make a decision. My recommendation is to not over-think your selections! You can always try them out and then order more later.
