I’ve been asked SO many times for recommendations for 1 year Smash cakes and wedding cakes. I was so excited when I learned my new neighbor Tara Olson along with her mother-in-law Cecelia are cake bakers & decorators extraordinaire! I commissioned (since they’re a work of art, right?) a cake for my Mom’s birthday and below is the completely gorgeous result.

Side note, I’ve experimented with baking a few times…and failed every time. It takes extreme talent to create something like this!

The attention to detail is amazing in this cake, as I’m sure it is in all of their creations. I didn’t take any photos of the inside (too busying enjoying it!) but it was layered strawberry with vanilla butter cream icing. It did not disappoint. Yumtown.

I can now say I have a cake recommendation that I’ve personally experienced with great service and a great product. I especially liked how Tara insisted I at least tell her my mom’s favorite flower when I told her I just wanted a “pretty cake” because she really wants to personalize each one…which is pretty cool.
