I can’t BELIEVE Ava is one. Where has the time gone? First, we shot her newborn photos, then a little outdoor family shoot shortly after Ava was born, then in February they came to visit for a studio session and the girls mama invited me back for Ava’s first birthday party with a little mini session right before the party. A pretty clever way to make sure you get photos while entertaining a house full of guests celebrating such a big milestone!

I think the most remarkable thing I noticed while photographing this family several times since Ava’s birth is that it’s so amazing to watch them grow. And they grow fast. I can’t believe how much Ava is resembling Anna in her expressions. Below there’s a black and white photo sitting on the blanket and they’re both looking down and away..their features are so similar!

I also really adore how much Camila and Justin value photos of their family and not only take them, but actually print them! Photos are displayed on the walls, on electronic photo frames and other standing frames throughout the house in a very meaningful way. As a photographer, sometimes you wonder if people will actually *do* anything with the photos aside from Facebook sharing. These two are displaying their children as the works of art they are, and that’s pretty awesome.
