Wedding Planning Help

WELCOME, WE’RE GLAD YOU’RE HERE!

Sooooo much goes into planning a wedding—invitations, vendors, venues, guest lists, cake tastings, flowers and decor, dresses, seating charts, etc. etc. etc, ETC!  Let’s not even forget that ever-important honeymoon destination decision. Needless to say, there are a LOT of decisions to make in order to create the beautiful wedding you are imagining!

This time is so exciting, but can easily overwhelm most brides with even the best pre-planning intentions. While there are many fun decisions to make – color schemes, design elements, centerpieces, and tiny details that make your wedding so YOU – there’s a lot going on behind the scenes that can easily get overlooked until a few weeks before when you are suddenly caught thinking, “Okay, I have chosen my vendors, sent the invites, made all of these decisions about how exactly I want everything to LOOK, but how is all of this going to FLOW?”

Maybe you haven’t even thought of that yet. Eeek.

Just kidding! No worries, that’s where these planning templates come in! These are meant to give you a greater sense of exactly how the many, many aspects you’ve agonized over for the past several months will come together to create a wedding that is uniquely you.

Below you will find FREE Various Planning Templates created specifically with YOU in mind to assist in planning a beautiful, well-organized wedding!

JDP SAMPLE DETAILED WEDDING DAY SCHEDULE

This sample schedule is meant to give you an idea of a detailed timeline that you can customize based on your individual wedding events. In this sample timeline, the bride and groom portraits take place prior to the wedding. I recommend taking as many photos before the ceremony as possible. If you want to honor the tradition of not seeing each other until after the ceremony, we can  still take family portraits, bridal portraits, groom portraits and the bridesmaid/ groomsmen groups so that after the ceremony we just have to photograph the entire bridal party together and the bride and groom together. This ensures a quick start to the reception. Take this sample and customize it to your liking. When in doubt, give extra time rather than cutting it close in order to keep your wedding as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.

JDP PORTRAIT CHECKLIST

This is a sample list of various family members and groupings for formal portraits. You, as a couple, should sit down and go over this list and customize it for your individual wedding. Feel free to remove any groupings that do not apply or you do not wish to take. You can also add any that are not included.

TIP #1: Add the names of your family, not just Groom’s Aunt, for example. This way, if I need to get the attention of Groom’s Aunt quickly, I can ask for her by name! : )

TIP #2: It’s helpful to have a family member assist in this project. Since the bride and groom are in most of the photos, it’s easier if a sister, brother or aunt become “portrait coordinator” since they will likely know most of the people included in these portraits and can gather them quickly. This speeds up the process and takes the work off the couple. Check. and Mark!

A week before your wedding, I will contact you and ask for a copy of the list, which I will print and bring with me at your wedding. We will go down the list, checking off family groupings so we don’t leave anyone off.

*Be sure to tell those included to stick around for family photos!

JDP WEDDING DAY ASSIGNMENTS GUIDE

So who does what, anyway? A description of wedding day assignments by individual. You can provide this guide to the wedding party and key family members to outline their roles so that no detail or task of your wedding is overlooked. Your goal, and mine, is for you to have a perfectly smooth, seamless, beautiful wedding day.

The objective is to outline each person’s role for the entire day, so they have a complete understanding of how they fit into your special day. This avoids any confusion about who should be doing what/when.  I have include an examples of common tasks for each group.

 THANK YOU!

Stressed brides don’t photograph well. There. I said it. By planning in advance you allow yourself to relax! I’ve created these templates for my clients because my goal is to make sure you have the tools you need (either these provided or from another source) that allows you to plan the flow/details/logistics of your day in advance so you can thoroughly enjoy it while it is happening. Who wants to make any decisions on their wedding day? Who wants people coming to you for questions every 10 minutes?  Trust me, you don’t!

Remember, communication is key. Share this info with your bridal party and key family members so everyone knows how your wedding will flow and can be problem-solvers instead of answer-seekers. : )

I’m happy to help you by answering any questions to the best of my knowledge or assist in constructing a wedding day schedule/timeline that allows you to include all of the elements you have in mind for your wedding.  Please just let me know!
