Monica & Brad Rooftop Session: Indianapolis Engagement Photographer

“Ahhhhh!” That was the sound I was making in my head as Monica and Brad adventured all over the roof tops of downtown Indianapolis buildings while capturing images to document their fabulous engagement and very urban lifestyle of which I’m so jealous. They have the best views even from their balcony of Lucas Oil (1st photo). The landscape views were spectacular and it really gave us such an interesting backdrop for their engagement images!

Okay, so actually I wasn’t too scared. Cautiously alarmed, but not scared. They took good care of me. : ) We had some interesting weather, to say the least – starting out on the roof of their building we had what photographed like snow but was actually rain drops. We thought the day would be gorgeous, then a rain cloud descended upon downtown Indianapolis, but ONLY downtown Indianapolis. It was literally featured on the news. It just came out of nowhere and camped out for the entire evening. But it made some great dramatic skies and we even captured a great shot of a rainbow background in one of the images below. In the span of just a few hours we traversed the city climbing ladders while already on top of many story buildings (I have proof!). We had a little fun chasing the sun without immediate success and later, took a few double exposure images as we ended the session on Georgia Street at night.

The takeaway from this session is this: rooftop photo shoots are amazing and inspiring and beautiful. That’s all.

Thanks for having such a unique idea for your engagement photos, it was a session I won’t soon forget! I can only imagine what you have up your sleeves for the wedding!
